Severe Belly Itching
OMG my belly is soooo itchy!!! I only have a few days to go before I'm being induced and I feel like I'm not going to make it because the itching is killing meeee! I've tried benadryl anti-itch gel, lotions, cold compress... nothing is relieving me. Please please recommend something to help, I can't take it!!

Severe Belly Itching
I had PUPPS during my last trimester. One of the OBs in my practice told me I could take a Benadryl pill. I never got to because I went into labor later that day .

Re: Severe Belly Itching
It sounds like PUPPs. I had it for 5 weeks with my twin pregnancy! It was awful. I was so itchy I wanted to die. I begged the doctor to deliver me early because I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I eventually had to go on a steroid cream but I tried every OTC thing out there. The only thing that helped a little was 2 things- rubbing Desitin on my belly and pine tar soap. Smells gross and DH had to go to about 15 GNC stores before he could find it but it did help a little bit. The Aveeno oatmeal bath never worked for me but the dermatologist told me it helped a lot of other people. Hang in there! I know the torture you feel.

Same!!! Unless you have had PUPPS nobody understands how unbelievably horrible it is. I was begging for an induction, and people told me I was being dramatic. Only thing that worked for me was multiple showers a day with pine tar soap (got it at dr. B Well in plainview) and many many coats of calamine lotion. Finally i was prescribed a steroid cream and that helped but I flew through it. Good luck, I feel your pain!!

Re: Severe Belly Itching
I got this 10 weeks before my due date. It was HORRIBLE. Honestly, nothing really helped long term -- only short term relief I found was the pine tar soap (I showered w/ it 2x a day) and then cold compresses of towels soaked with Aloe Vera. It was during the summer and I would hang out in front of the AC in my underwear letting the cold hit me. Then at night I slathered myself with the calamine lotion ...but that didn't stop me from scratching in my sleep ... enough to break skin. Luckily your induction is nearby. Good luck!
