How did you keep it a secret?
We are 4 1/2 weeks; we just got our BFP a few days ago. DH's family was very suspicious before we even knew. I get the 'why aren't you drinking?' 'why are you only drinking water?' questions when I wasn't PG and it's really annoying. My first OB appointment is on Oct 7 so we don't plan on telling them before then, but in the meantime we are spending a long weekend with them for Labor Day. I don't want to jinx myself and tell them I'm not PG but I don't want to say I am either. How did you hide it from people?

I tell people in hungover if they question my drinking. Lol then it seems like I was drinking.
Luckily I only have one friend that's been housing me but I don't see her often so I have a drink when I'm with her. I'm 13 weeks and telling everyone at our labor day party.

I would just say "You've been asking me that for months, if not years. Am I such a big drinker that every time I have water, you have to embarrass me?"

I would tell people the following:
I'm on antibiotics for a sinus infection and can't drink
I drank so much last night I can't even look at another drink
Or I would have them pour me a glass , meet DH in the next room and pour it in his.
It was a PITA bc everyone knows I love my wine so I had to go to great lengths to cover it up lol
Oh and I would also order a seltzer with a lime wedge and make believe it had alcohol in it

How did you keep it a secret?
I would get an alcoholic drink. Take some fake sips, have DH drink some when no one is looking, and/or pour some down the drain in the bathroom. Once they see you "drinking", they'll be off your back and you can have nonalcoholic with less scrutiny. Also, have drinks that look like alcoholic drinks ( seltzer with lime looks like gin and tonic, etc).

I enlisted my sister to help fool my mom. My little brother just turned 21 and my mom was watching me like a hawk. I made a point to make a drink in front of her then my sister and I switched cups. 
ETA: I'm just over 6 weeks now. I have my first apptmt. on September 10th, so we'll be telling them if it all goes well that day.

How did you keep it a secret?
We had a family wedding this weekend and every suspected. I actually took a sip of wine from my SIL and it worked with her--at least she got off my case. I know a few sips of alcohol won't do anything but I don't think she realizes that.
I personally don't want to tell people until we are out of the 1st trimester. Our parents know but we know they can keep a secret.

Did this, and just told DH's siblings (we spent 4 days at the beach with them and they didn't suspect at all. MIL said she suspected, but at least she didn't say anything haha. DH went and got the rounds when he could and just brought me back an empty beer bottle to hold onto, or we kept trading so he could take swigs out of mine. Got sprite with a lime when he could get to the bar alone to get it without anyone overhearing. Club with a lime would work fine too. We went to a wedding and just told some of the friends who were there, they had no idea.

This is basically what I did the first time when we had a big Superbowl party to go and I was only 8 weeks. I held a beer bottle with water in it the whole time. No one noticed, but if I was drinking water the alarms would have gone off. LOL
