Anyone's DC start school today?

DS started preschool today. He's been there before but he will have a new teacher and this time I put him on the bus so I am nervous about him going into a new class with new teachers, etc.

Last time the bus service was starting until a week after school started (due to a paperwork issue with the district) so I drove him and had a whole week to get him settled.

For the last 3 days DS was chanting no bus, no bus so I was very nervous. He ran right on the bus and waved bye with a big smile.

You think that would have eased my nerves. Nope- still wondering if he was ok.

Trying not to call the school.

We start on Wednesday and I'm already having a panic attack. This will be DS' first experience away from me for an extended length of time with strangers. I was hoping that the school would have had an orientation or at least a half day that first day, but they do neither. My heart is breaking sending my baby to nursery school for 6 hours. I'm sure he'll be fine.

How was your DS when he got home that first day?

DS's teacher called and told me that he has a good day. He was a little hesitant to go into the room but once he went in he was playing and laughing and had a good day.

When I picked him up (he is with a sitter until I get home from work) he was happy.

It was only 3 days by I had no problem getting him on the bus and he happy.

Glad it went well! My ds starts Wednesday although he was originally supposed to start on Tuesday. I got a call from the pre-k director from his school on Friday letting me know that since ds was the "over enrolled " kid in his class (which they never told me about) state regulations have to have him start on the second day. I was kinda pissed about that. I'm hoping all goes well since he has not been in school since mid August and my ds hates deviating from a routine.
