Frustrated
I went for genetic blood work 3 weeks ago. Got a call from the nurse a little over a week ago that everything came back fine. Got a call from my doctor today one thing came back that I was a carrier so now DH has to get blood work done. I am so frustrated because I thought we were all good but she said they didn't send 2 of the test. I have been off BC since July and we have been trying but not really tracking or going nuts. I went and bought OPK this weekend and thought we were ready to go and now I feel like I might wait on the OPK till we know for sure. Even if DH is a carrier there only a 25% chance. My doctor said it is just the fact of having the information and we can make our own choice on what to do with it. I know it is not a huge deal but I wish they never called the first time. Sorry for the rant.

Re: Frustrated
That would definitely bug me that they didn't call, but I would still track this month. It takes awhile to get the rhythm down and it doesn't hurt to be armed with this knowledge when you're really ready to start.

That's annoying -- they definitely should have waited until they had all the results to call you. Not saying that you shouldn't wait to start trying but I agree with PP, it's good to track anyways and even if you find out that DH is a carrier, are you going to NOT try to get pregnant? I guess you'd be speaking to a genetic counselor? Either way, I wish you good luck.

I have been tracking on my phone but I was waiting on the OPK till we were sure because they are not exactly the cheapest thing.

The doctor said if he is a carrier that she suggest using a genetic counselor. Honestly we will def. still try but DH refuse to talk about it until we have his results. He more of the in the now one where I am always what if this happens or this.

Honestly, those phone apps are crap. I wasted months tracking on my phone. I tracked using OPKs for 3 months and on the third month- bam! BFP!

Me too. The app on my phone told me I'd ovulate the week before I actually did and that stupid app had been collecting data for 8 months. I could only rely on OPKs to know my fertile window.
