What when you are pregnant?

Drink?
Eat?
Chemicals wise?

Re: Do not

Honestly for me... the only thing I stopped was drinking like a fish. I didn't stop or deny myself anything ...including an occasional glass of wine.

Oh and I had Splenda almost daily and an occasional diet soda.
And my doctor told me I should have a cup of coffee a day for the caffeine. (To prevent kidney stones, since I am prone to them)

I really didn't change anything. I ate pretty much what I wanted within moderation.

Same here. I don't have sushi - but that's mostly because I have a severe aversion to it this time around. Also cut down on coffee but have 1 cup per day!

I don't have artificial sweeteners but I never have them, pregnant or not.

Re: Do not

No caffeine, sushi, alcohol, certain fish or artificial sweeteners at all. Other than those things, I eat what I like. I don't think foods (minus the things I listed above) can harm the baby

All I stayed away from was alcohol and sushi. I cut down my caffeine. That's all.

Re: Do not

I cut down on caffeine and have no alcohol (except occasional wine), soft cheeses, cold cuts, sushi, rare meat. I'm probably too conservative, but God forbid anything happened, I'd always wonder if it was something that I had and shouldn't have, and I can't do that to me or DH.

I don't eat sushi, that's it. I allow 1-2 glasses of wine a week. Europe allows one a day so 1-2 a week sounds fine to me.

Re: Do not

My OB recommended I stay away from deli meats or at least heat them to steaming to avoid listeria. Also no very rare meats. She said sushi, caffeine, sugar, and most seafood is fine. She said to stay away from fish high in mercury like shark or swordfish. No shark for 9 months?!? I think I'll be okay.

ETA: everything in moderation!
