Frustrated with Caremark
caremark is my pharmacy plan. RMA sent the order of drugs on 8/31..the same day of my nursing consult.
They said caremark will contact me in a few days. So I call b/c I didnt hear anything and lo and behold they never got the order. I call RMA..they resend.
Finally they get it and arrange for delivery today. They call me yesterday saying 2 of the drugs are being denied due to no prior auth.
**** WHY DO YOU CALL ME THE DAY THEY ARE TO SHIP ASKING ABOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. How about call a few days prior??
The 3rd drug has to switch to the follistim pen as thats the preferred (not the ganirelex)..fine Ok. RmA is working on the authorizations and stuff.
but goddamnit..i need the meds to start them saturday.

 I hate when this stuff happens. They should be able to get the autorization within one day and overnight you the meds.

i had a ******* breakdown in the bathroom at work. the nurse at RMA was reading notes so Im waiting for the actual benefits person to call me...Caremark is denying the MENOPUR b/c I have not done 3 rounds of clomid?? If they looked in my history they would see I've had 5 scripts of clomid starting in January.
IM waiting for RMA to call me back b/c this is all very confusing. Then Caremark said that the prior auth is still pending. So no one knows WTF they are talking about. I believe all the other stuff was approved thankfully.
Thank god my friend at work who is pregnant (via RMA) gave me left over drugs today and luckily two boxes of Menopur are in there to get me started.
its $187 A VIAL. Really?? I have no idea how anyone affords this.

Caremark has approved everything. we'll see tomorrow when I get the box b/c im sure something will be missing.

I am sorry you had such a hard time. I used them for my IVF meds and they forgot two items. One happened to be SYRINGES! I luckily had one left over that I had to dig for and was shocked I even had it. I called my doctor and they were about to call me in a prescription to be picked up but luckily caremark came through. Then after my ER they wanted me on antibiotics that was supposed to come with my IVF supplies. I called caremark and the person I spoke with said OOPS we forgot it! Really oops? They sent it overnight but still come on!

Frustrated with Caremark
Caremark is my preferred pharmacy. But my authorizations got denied (ins won't cover ivf meds) so I am not using Caremark. When I had Caremark on the phone I asked for the cash price of my meds (to comparison shop) and the person said she couldn't find out.
Sorry..getting prepped for ivf is stressful!
