Speech issues pre k question
Does he get any services? If he has no other issues besides the speech, I personally think that a class where they are very verbal is beneficial to him. Kids learn from their peers. But that being said, someone should be helping him whether it a SEIT or specific speech services.

Yes, he goes to speech twice a week. Two half hour sessions.

Re: Speech issues pre k question
Have you spoken to the teacher? What does she think? If you don't see a change, you can request to reconvene and have his IEP changed. I would also talk to the speech therapist. My twins speech has improved so much (they also go twice a week), but get OT as well. They actually just added an additional group speech session. Maybe your son could benefit from something like this?
The first step I think is to call a meeting with the teacher and his therapist and discuss your concerns and see what their feedback is and take it from there.
Keep us posted.

Re: Speech issues pre k question
My ds is 3- he is nonverbal with an ASD diagnosis. He gets all of his therapy at school (including speech 3x a week). I have no clue which kids in his class are verbal and nonverbal. I do know last year in the ei program he was in there was a mix. I don't think I review his Iep again with the cpse until the end of the year at which point if I'm not seeing any progress I am going to push for more speech sessions for next year.

Speech issues pre k question
DS has a pragmatic speech delay (he's 4 yrs 2 months) and was placed in an integrated program 5 half days a week. He gets two speech sessions and a group play session with the social worker (since his delay is social speech).
