Update--Neighbor's dog digging under fence
Our neighbor had a stockade fence up, but when we put up a vinyl fence they decided to take theirs down.
We have a 6 and 3 yr old that are always in the yard playing. I noticed yesterday that their dogs are starting to dig under the fence :/
They have 2 larger dogs--I think one is a pit bull mix and the other a german shepard. I plan on talking to them about it, but it was just yesterday so I haven't had the chance.
Is there anything I can put down to deter them that won't be harmful? Just fill the holes with rocks?
We also have chickens that free range but the dogs only bark and dig when we are outside.
Update--I stopped by on Saturday and they weren't home. He called me later in the day. He was very nice and understanding. He mentioned that his dog is an escape artist and he's jumped over their side gate(it's shorter) 2 times!
It seems they've been paying more attention the last few days. I'm just worried that he will keep digging. We also have backyard chickens and I don't want to have to worry about keeping them in a run all afternoon. That was part of the reason we put up then fence.

Re: Update--Neighbor's dog digging under fence
My dogs like to dig too so when we put up our vinyl fence I had the same issue especially with my 85 lb puppy. What we did was build up our flower beds against the fence. My dad suggested putting chicken wire there but the flower beds seemed to do the trick. I also spinkled spices in the beds - I think I need a combo of crushed red pepper flake and ground cloves. I did some research and anything spicy will help - ground mustard, cinnamon, etc. It worked like a charm! Good luck!
