Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
HOW? Walking to my car at lunch was almost too exhausting for me.

Re: Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
I was lucky, I wasn't too tired or nauseous so kept running 2x a week and took barre 1-2x a week. I think I was getting a lot of sleep overnight though.
If there are times you are feeling up for it, take advantage. There were days I just didn't have it in me but other times I had been planning a workout but felt energized so I made sure to take advantage!
Also, don't worry if you just don't have it in you because from what I hear, energy comes back in the 2nd trimester for most people!

I don't. I walk through stores and some day time activities with the kids, but excercise will not be happening for me. Too tired

Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
My activity until I started zofran consisted of running from the couch to the bathroom 20 times a day. Those were my cardio days. My non cardio days were picking my head up from the bathroom floor to reach the toilet.
I know you said you've been sick- go easy on yourself!

Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
My first trimester, after the morning sickness and exhaustion hit, I basically was lying down every moment I could. No exercise at all. I knew I was fit enough before pregnancy, and I knew I'd make it up when my energy came back and I didn't want to make myself feel worse by pushing my body when it was telling me I needed to be still.
ETA: I have borderline low blood pressure and vasovagal syncope, so I faint a LOT in pregnancy if I exert myself before my blood supply is caught up to my expanding blood vessels.

Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
I've been too tired to do much of anything. I barely have enough energy to make through an entire work day. This morning I dry heaved in the shower for about 30 minutes so I was exhausted and in pain basically all day.
I'm "obese" according to BMI standards, but my doctor isn't classifying me "high risk" because I'm overweight or anything. He just said to do at least 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. We have a recumbent stationary bike so once I have the energy again ... I'll be biking in the house.

Re: Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
I'm just trying to make it through the day without throwing up... Can't imagine working out or even walking right now. I was just wondering how the rest of you do it!

Re: Staying Active in 1st Trimester?
I'm 10 weeks now and just starting to get my energy back... some days. I try and walk home rather than take the bus on those days, but that's about as active as I've been. I was also falling asleep at about 7 PM each night, whether I wanted to or not. Now, I can stay up a bit later. I think it has to do with nausea subsiding a bit, too. Being constantly sick was taking it's toll and now I'm just starting to feel a bit better- some days are better than others, of course. I'm hoping it only gets better from here.
I want to try to get back to the gym in my second trimester. My OB urged me to stay active- walk, use an elliptical, swim if possible, have lots of sex.
