Restaurant Rec needed - Manhattan
I need a casual Italian or American restaurant in midtown or not too far from it.
I am meeting a friend I really need to catch up with, so not too noisy.
Nothing crazy $$$ but it doesn't have to be super cheap.
TIA!

My friend's hotel is on 48th and Lex but we'll walk a lot anyway (shopping etc.) so it doesn't have to be super close.
Everything I know in Manhattan is further south - village etc.
Thank you!

Re: Restaurant Rec needed - Manhattan
Thank you all!
So here is what happened - if anyone cares lol.
I was meeting a friend from another country who was in town on business. We don't talk that often with the time difference, so I had no idea she now has (semi serious ) major stomach issues and only wanted Japanese or Chinese so she could get steamed, mild food like dumplings or rice. So we ended up at a place called Zuma on Madison which I thought was fine but totally overrated. It doesn't come near my favorite for sushi - Kotobuki in Roslyn.
The next day we went to the Hudson Valley for the day and she ate something there that bothered her so she couldn't eat dinner, but I needed a little something, so I ended up getting Korean tacos at the Broadway Bites food market not far from Penn Station. They were INCREDIBLE. There was some other stuff at the market I wanted to try so I stopped on my way home from work the other day and I got a Bolivian beef slider that was even better.
The pathetic thing about stopping there on my way home from work is that I don't even work in Manhattan, I work in Brooklyn . I tell myself it's ok because the portions are small and it's near Penn!
Anyway I will definitely refer to this thread for the future!
