So much changes... 1st year school
DS started 1st grade this year and so far loves it and doing very well. I'm just a little annoyed about all the changes happening...
First, I was super excited when DS got the one 1st grade teacher everyone raves about. Yes, they're all great, but heard great things about her. WEll, found out she's pregnant, which is wonderful, but she is already on leave since Oct 1 and not coming back till March. Ok, one hiccup and the sub seems good. She's really young (just graduated) so still would like some more feedback, but it's really only 1st grade.
DS's bus driver who he loves and gives him extra attention told us he's having surgery soon so his last day is today for a couple of months.
Now, I am hearing that the walls that are painted through the school of characters, story books and movies (the kids all rave about how beautiful it is and love walking through the halls) are going to be painted over.
Ok... small vent! I know it could be worse and some of the changes are good like the teacher having a baby, but still a bothers me a bit.
Glad DS is adjusting to the school well and really loves it. That's really what matters.
Just hope this is it! LOL

Seems like minor changes that will probably just affect you and not your child.
It could be worse. MUCH worse.

Thanks! I know that. I think it's been a bunch of changes and it's that time of the month. Nothing a glass of wine and it being Friday can't fix. LOL

Aww, how does your DS do with change? My Dd is in 1st too. It may be better that the sub is long term this way there's more consistency. Who knows, maybe you'll like her better than the regular teacher lol.

I think I am having a harder time with the changes than M ...lol.
I had tears in my eyes when I said by the bus driver last Friday.
I can't wait to see Mrs. W in the spring and I haven't had her in 2 years.
I have a feeling the murals are not going to get painted. Although, I really wasn't to opposed to them being painted. I think they should keep a section and have Mr.S the art teacher do some murals or have today's kids add to it.
I felt a huge change going from K to elementary school too.

You see the mural thing was on CBS news? Crazy! Poor new principal! Woman is gonna run! LOL!
I think I'm fine with everything now. LOL! Was PMS'ing and everything was going on at once. The new teacher has been great so far, was told the bus driver's surgery went well and hopefully will be back soon and the murals are going to stay.
Gotta remember... I went there in the 80's so remember some of the paintings on the wall. Although some women were really go nuts about it.
