What to wear to a communion?
Never been.
A dress I would assume?
Or would I be overdressed?

What to wear to a communion?
I would wear a nice dress; nothing overly fancy like a gown. A simple cocktail dress, wrap dress, like something from Dress Barn.

What to wear to a communion?
I dress based on where the event is. If it's at a restaurant or catering hall I will wear a dress. If it's at someone's house I dress much more casual, usually pants

What to wear to a communion?
Depends on where the party is and what time of day. A nice "regular" dress - like a wrap dress etc if fine if it's an afternoon at a restaurant. But a cocktail dress if it's an evening event at a hall. And pants are fine if it's at a house (but I just always prefer a dress/skirt for myself, even if it's a more casual type of dress)

Thanks - I'll probably take a look on lunch. Stupid question: is this something where one would avoid black? Or white?
All dresses I own are black. I think we as going to church and then the home.

People have evening communion parties at halls?  Well, yes, in that case I guess you'd dress up, but usually it is about as formal as a bridal or baby shower.
Wrap dress, skirt & blouse, etc. The parents may get a little dressier.
The girls making their communion wear white dresses (similar to flower girl dresses). Boys usually wear blue suits. Traditionally, you wouldn't wear black to a joyous event, but plenty of people do now.

Yes, they do. Very big in my family/culture. And you would dress in cocktail dresses/suits.
