Re: Mortgage - pre-approved?

Taxes for the last 2-3 years, earnings statements for any and all income, bank statements, 401k statements.

For a pre-approval you don't need any paperwork. Ours was done over the phone. Once you have a signed contract you will need the paperwork the pp said.

Mortgage - pre-approved?

We just went through the process. Submitting all info prior is good makes the mortgage process smoother. We did 3 years taxes/ w-2s, 3 months bank statements, 3 months consecutive pay stubs, 1 year cancelled rent checks and any other info relevant DHs 401k statements, my 403B statements and we also did my car loan payoff since we only have 8 payments left until the loan ends they don't factor that in as debt. After the fact they asked for random things like a letter outlining large deposits in our account along with the cancelled check copies from the bank (my tuition reminbursement, bonus check from my DHs mid year bonus. And then I needed to submit a letter verifying my identity since I had just been married and changed my name. Other than that we didn't need to submit anything else for our mortgage but there's so many other things to do in the process that the more you give early on the better idea of your finances and what you can afford and the less you have to worry about when your trying to get everything else to them! We just did this and closed in OCT so FM me with any questions! Hope this helps!!!
