Articulation eval
My daughter has been getting speech since last November. She will be transitioning out of EI. One of the concerns has always been articulation. Her ongoing and speech therapist have always told me they are not allowed to evaluate or test articulation in ei. After talking with my school district they say this is totally false and they can totally test, especially if there are concerns. Feedback???

Articulation eval
I think for EI, articulation is not tested because they are still so little and inarticulation is so common. For CPSE, I can't remember if articulation is part of the evals (but I guess they must be if the district is telling you). Do you have an idea of where will she will be going to school? Can you call them and ask? Usually, there is a head speech therapist. I usually ask questions like this to the one at my kids school. She is very knowledgable about this stuff.
Even if it winds up not being part of the evals, you can request it being written into the IEP (that they will work on articulation- whether it be vowels, certain words, whatever the case is).

Re: Articulation eval
I had my son tested through EI and he did not qualify because his only issue was extreme articulation. They told me flat out that they don't screen for that.
He qualified for speech through CPSE at three for extreme articulation delay- that again was his only issue.
He qualified for speech 3x per week and the improvement after a year is miraculous!
