What would you do?

So I sliced my finger last night with that cuisinart blender stick making a smoothie and got 7 stitches. The dr at lij told me I have to go to a plastic surgeon in a week to take out the stitches. I know it's 2 weeks, not 1. He's a moron but whatever. 2 weeks I'm leaving for vacation so I will take stitches out myself a day or 2 before the 2 week mark. I was planning on doing gel. Apparently part of my nail bed also got sliced. Should I just get gel on every finger except the injured one and just buy nail polish that matches the gel and re do that finger as it chips, or should I chance it with gel. What can happen? # priorities

If its not 100% healed, Id be nervous about putting any nail polish on it - gel or regular. It would suck to get an infection when you are away on vacation.

This.

I would leave it bare. You may be keeping it covered with a band aid anyway - so get stylish ones!

I'd get a mani and get my nails buffed only -
I'm not risking an infection for red nails!
