It's basically like a yummy butter cookie, made with orange juice and has an orange juice glaze on the top. And we decorate with non-pareils (those crunchy circular sprinkles). This is the recipe.

I can't find a good picture of them. This isn't the same cookie, it's a similar type cookie and this is what they usually come out looking like except softer/lighter/prettier than this. External Image

Re: Christmas Cookies

We always make chocolate chip, gingerbread, sugar cookies with royal icing, and oatmeal raisin. We do a cookie exchange at work so this year I'll also be making:

Italian almond cookies with icing glaze
Hot cocoa Cookies
Cinnamon Bun Cookies
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies (My FAVES!)
Lemon Crinkle Cookies

ETA: Last year we also did red velvet roll-out cookies decorated with royal icing and eggnog macarons.

Oh- and the reese's cookie cups!

Re: Christmas Cookies

Every year my mother and I spend an entire weekend doing nothing but baking. That weekend this year is this weekend:

Rainbow cookies
Pignoli cookies
Mint chocolate chip cookies
Bacon chocolate chip cookies
Red velvet cake balls (in milk chocolate and white chocolate)
Oreo balls (in milk and white chocolate)
Fudge
Toffee
Peanut butter blossoms
Oatmeal Raisin
Coconut macaroons
Chocolate coconut macaroons
Peanut butter bon bons
Snickerdoodles
Turtles
Thumbprint cookies
Lemon bars
chocolate coconut raspberry bars
peppermint almond cookies
Nutella cups

I'm sure we'll find a couple of other recipes to try out as well (we always try one or two new ones each year).

We literally make dozens and dozens of each and end up with close to 2,000 cookies each year. We mail them to family around the country and bring platters to work and neighbors.

Ummm A LOT. I think this year we bought like 25 pounds of flour and sugar. About 10-12 bags of chocolate chips. I think like 5 pounds of butter.
