Good reading programs
Hoping for some suggestions. We currently use Ready Gen. My school is looking for a reading program for K-2. Does anyone have a program they like or have liked in their school? Just want to do some research. TIA

I loved the treasures program at my old school.
My new school uses tc. I love/hate it.

We are in the same boat (shocker!) We loved Treasures, too, but now it is branded as something else since Treasures wasn't common core...

We've had Treasures for a few years & most teachers do not like it. We hear it's being faded out but not sure what will takes its place. Teachers are hoping to stick with Fundations for phonics and then just do supplemental reading workshop but without a basal, like the good old days. . I luckily got out of the classroom the year Treasures came in and never had to teach it. When I left the classroom, we had Mondo. That, like all programs, has its pros and cons as well.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt iRead? Do you use iRead as a full blown program or just as a resource? I piloted iRead the year it came out and while the computer portion can be OK for SOME students, I thought the whole group lessons were severely lacking. A lot of the kids also get ridiculously bored with the computer software. We find the student reports are not indicative of their true abilities. When an above average 2nd grader is on Level A and showing to be 2 grade levels below on the software and it has them working on initial consonants you kind of have to

we used ready gen for 1 year-It was horrible!! We have also used treasures in the past. We now use a program called Reading Street. It is similar to treasures, but aligned with the common core. It also has an online component with videos, songs, etc.

I am. Ready Gen was only available to NYC as far as I know.

I am a pull out reading teacher and use Superkids with k and love it. They have a whole k-2 curriculum.

Oh ok. It seems like superkids is popular in Catholic school. I wonder if any public schools use it.
