PSA for those doing genetic testing with a sperm donor
So I found out what happened with my sperm from my IVF cycle. I did IVF with ICSI. I was told there would be sperm left to freeze for a second cycle. Then after the 1st cycle they told there was none left. Why?
Turns out the company doing the genetic testing needed some sperm to do the testing. My RE told me they (his embryologist I guess) should have been able to send some sperm for testing with the rest left to freeze. They did not do separate it out (he called it like something called allocating).
Very frustrating bc buying donated sperm and shipping it is not cheap. They wasted sperm on me.
Sigh. Be very clear to ask your doctor to tell those handling your sperm that the goal is to freeze any that can (if possible) be frozen for future use.
My doctor told me that would be done though. And they still messed up.
Sigh.

I actually just found out that one of my DDs classmates had a similar issue. Did two IVF cycles. Needed separate sperm for both cycles. Did PGS and transferred the best 2. She had twins. One has green eyes and blonde hair. The other looks Spanish. Both adorable

Ha! That's a neat.
I'm getting the point where God had a hand in this and wanted it to happen that I got a second donor for some reason

Most REs will not transfer 2 embryos from different donors at the same time. I actually don't know of any that will do that.

I will only transfer 1. But If I transfered 2 I would only transfer from the same donor. I chose open donors and would want it to be clear who the dad is so my child knows who the biological dad is for later.
