Let's talk about moisturizers
I have bought and returned more moisturizers in the last few months than I can count.
I went to Sephora over the weekend and the sales associate said maybe I don't need one - and it got me thinking.
My skin LOOKS okay - but it feels a bit rough in texture, I have large pores on my nose, oily/combo skin, but no scarring or signs of aging (yet). I said a lot of creams tend to sit on my face and never feel absorbed, and she said my skin may be naturally hydrated enough and just like the ground, if you over saturate it the cream has nowhere to go (sink in). She said I should just use a broad spectrum sunscreen and forego a traditional moisturizer.
What say you? I just want even-toned/textured skin. She gave me samples of Sunday Riley nighttime repairing oil and something else by Kate Somerville.
Does anyone not wear a moisturizer? How do you combat aging otherwise?

Let's talk about moisturizers
I personally feel that fighting aging and caring for your skin comes more from within - what you eat and drink - than what you put on your face, so I eat super healthy (not just for my skin, but definitely factor in aging) - also, i put a thin coat of coconut oil on my skin. i happen to also like kiehls - its very light. i don't do a lot with my skin and I am 42 and have very few wrinkles.

I agree...I take care of my skin from the inside as well. Coconut oil did NOTHING for my skin, I do not get the hype of CO for skin/makeup removing.

I can't stand coconut oil either. It did NOTHING for my super dry skin on my legs. It was just a greasy mess and it was so hard to work with at room temp, it reminded me of trying to dig out Crisco. Just flaking everywhere and when it melted it was greasy and my legs were dry again in a few hours. Never again, I will save it for making popcorn! If you are saying your skin isn't really very dry, I'd definitely avoid it because it will leave you an oil slick. What about some of those water based/gel moisturizers? I feel like Garnier makes one.
ETA- found it

Re: Let's talk about moisturizers
I find most sunscreens to be a lot heavier than a daily facial moisturizer and the formulas are often not as gentle. If you need something gentle- this is the Best and it has a 60-day money guarantee.

Yesssss....I feel like a gel/water-based cream would work well. My T-zone is oily but my cheeks are dry and prone to flaking in the winter. My girlfriend said she uses CO with a hot towel/steam and it helps a lot, but I'm over CO lol
I will definitely check that one out!

I'm obsessed with my new Lush moisturizer called Magical Moringa My face is the softest it's ever been and it has corn starch in it so it has a matte finish

I use Clinique every day moisturizing gel (I think that's what it's called!) personally, I can't live without a moisturizer. I just feel like something Is missing after I clean my face.

Let's talk about moisturizers
If your moisturizer is just sitting on your skin you need to look at the ingredients in the products. If it contains mineral oil or petrolatum that acts as a barrier and doesn't allow the dermis to filter out toxins etc. Not to mention they are comedogenic (pore clogging) and carcinogenic. Take a look at what's in your makeup as well

Cera ve! I used to do the same thing non stop buying them and returning them. Even my dermatologist said Cera ve. Also check beautypedia to see what is in the products you are using.

Re: Let's talk about moisturizers
I switch between Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer and Neutrogena body oil.
The Aveeno has an SPF15 sunscreen, and I don't get a reaction from it. I do have sensitive skin and mild rosacea, so that and the Positively Radiant cleanser help keep it in check, smoothing out the bumpiness and evening out my skin tone.

Re: Let's talk about moisturizers
Even though your skin shows no sign of aging yet it is extremely important to moisturize still with anti-aging benefits. At this point it is preventative for you. I work for Estee Lauder in developing skincare products at the corporate office. We have a awesome moisturizer that just came out. Its called Supreme light. And it is just that, very light, non-greasy and don't even notice its on after application. It's so good, that two of my friends husbands have stolen their samples I gave to them. Try it and let me know what you think. You will not be disappointed!!

Yes, the gel not the lotion soaks in very fast. Also the Belief Aqua Bomb moisturizer is like a gel that absorbs fast.

Let's talk about moisturizers
I have tried a good amount some super expensive, some cheap, and my favorite is the Olay Regenerist line. As soon as I put it on my face feels smooth and healthy. I really like it. I also switch things up when I run out. I feel like if you use too much of the same product over time, you just get used to it, and it doesn't do the same job.
I usually switch to something new when the Olay runs out, then go back, when the new one runs out. I am not sure if it's true or not, but I think so in my head LOL
