Birthday Brunch at home- ideas?

Both of my kids are celebrating birthdays this month and I'm thinking of having both sets of grandparents over for a brunch to celebrate. Getting tired of the typical dinners. Any ideas on what to have that would be easy yet impressive? Going to be followed by cake so don't want to include too many sweet things. Also inlays are vegetarian and MIL is an extremely healthy eater (my family is quite the opposite lol) So far thinking:

- bagels with spreads
- bacon
- fruit salad
- either homemade mini pumpkin muffins or
cinnamon donuts

I don't eat eggs so I'm afraid to cook them the traditional way lol. Maybe theres some sort of baked egg thing I can do?

I did this caprese quiche for dds first birthday and it went over very well. Seems like it would please everyone you described.

if you have lots of vegetarians and healthy eaters what about adding grilled or roasted vegetables and/or a soup, None dairy and veg based such as, butternut squash or tomato.
as far as eggs, you can make a basic quiches or buy one, that will cover your eggs.

I made a big pan of scrambled eggs, just cook them low, slow and stir as the cook so simple you cant make a mistake. Add water salt and pepper when you beat them

I have learned over the years, keep it simple and don't put out too many options bc most will go to waste.

Have FUN!! and happy birthday to the kids

When I do a brunch, I usually do French toast casserole, fruit salad, home fries, and brown sugar bacon from the breakfast side...from the lunch side I have done a small ham, 7 layer salad, grilled veggies, chicken salad croissant sandwiches (cranberry and walnuts).

Thanks for the ideas! I agree I need to keep it simple. I am Greek & Italian and I tend do do everything big lol. I think I'm going to do more of a late breakfast than a full on brunch. I pinned a bunch of recipes today and may try some out. May do a batch of fresh granola & yogurt.

I love a good quiche made with cream, parmesan cheese, roasted asparagus, green onions, bacon and mozzarealla or gruyere.

Re: Birthday Brunch at home- ideas?

I love the birthday brunch idea! I love brunch food!!

Some of my favorites to make when hosting a brunch are:

Baked Cheese Grits - These go over insanely well because they are different. Grits are so southern so I feel like people don't have them a lot and this is a yummy take that's not so traditional (plus make in advance and it's super easy).

Apple French Toast Casserole - Any french toast bake really. I change up which recipe I make and have tried a bunch. This is a good one.

You menu sounds yummy but I would probably add one egg dish as well or take out the bacon because without the eggs I don't know how much people will eat bacon with just spreads you know?
