Aside from the obvious ones (stroller, car seat, etc), I was told a boppy pillow, sleep sack, Aden+anais burpy bibs, and the boon lawn were all amazing items to have. I was also told to register for a diaper backpack instead of (or in addition to) a traditional diaper bag.

I just went by the registry checklist that places like Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby provide... and even that I didn't check everything off of. From my experience, BTDT moms will get you the good stuff whether it's on your registry or not.
