when do you typically call dr after BFP? update

So AF was due today and nothing was happening when I woke up so I tested and surprise, surprise BFP!!!!

Of course my doctor's office is closed on the weekends, so I plan on calling Monday for blood work. Is that too soon? Do people normally wait longer to get Beta tests done?

Sorry for this silly question. My first 2 were IVF babies, so I am a bit in shock and nervous.

ETA: I went in for bloodwork on Monday and my beta was 591!!!! I go back tomorrow for a repeat. Holy crap!!!!!

I called right away but my doctor won't see me for 8 weeks.

Thanks. I just am a bit nervous because I have a clotting disorder and will need to be on Lovenox for the duration of the pregnancy, so the sooner I get a confirmation the better.

If you have a clotting disorder, I would truthfully call the on call number. You can even call your re who probably has weekend hours.

If you're at all high risk I would call immediately/Monday morning. I am high risk and closely monitored, and they have me come in at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, and then 12 weeks for my NT. And I don't need to take anything - the risk isn't with the pregnancies it's with me. So in your case I would call asap, and even perhaps the on call number like someone else suggested. If you need to be taking Lovenox, maybe the on call doctor can call it in for you?

I called right away, went in for bloodwork then first soon I was 6 weeks then every 2 weeks after that til I was 12 weeks then it went to 4 weeks. My practice is not the norm apparently

I'd probably call your RE. They've already monitored you early on and are familiar with your disorder, so I'd start there. And call your OB tomorrow, too.
