Looking for some insight
Just looking for some input... A little background...4 years ago i was fortunate to have a successful round of IVF. My tubes were blocked, and cleared during the HSG. The dr said i did have narrow tubes, and recommended going right to IVF. My DH had low morphology and mobility, but great counts. So we were told to do 1/2 ICSI. When i got the fertilization report none fertilized naturally, and 6 of 8 fertilized with ICSI. Fast forward to now. Since my daughter was born we haven't used birth control. So before going right back to IVF for #2, we decided that my DH go see a urologist that specializes in male infertility. We just got his results back and she was dumbfounded as to why we needed to do IVF. She said there should be no reason as to why we couldn't conceive naturally. None fertilized when they were in the dish together! What the heck! She gave him pills to help with mobility. And i made a appt with my dr this monday... I know its my call to keep trying naturally, or go right to IVF. I just feel like if none could fertilize natually w/ IVF, then how am i going to get pregnant the "old fashion" way. Have any of you read about this? Is there a test for it yet?

Re: Looking for some insight
I didn't read your link, but I just wanted to say that whatever his counts were 4 years ago could have drastically changed in 4 years. It seems that it's good news that it's improved.
However, if you haven't been using protection for all these years, and still aren't pregnant, it's possible your tubes are the issue, or something else. I'd go back to an RE for testing again. It doesn't mean you need to jump back to IVF. First you just have to see what the story is.

Thanks for the response. I was kinda thinking the same thing. Ive talked to frienda about it, but i feel like unless youve delt with infertility its hard to relate. The link is about a missing protein that doesnt allow the sperm to find the egg.

The same thing almost happened to us. My DHs Doctor said oh you guys will totally work with an IUI. Well, I had issues too so we decided against natural and IUI.

So did you guys do ivf? The only thing that changed this time was his count. Originally it was 140mil, now its 50mil. She said 140 was bizarrely high. Im trying to think realistically.

I would go back to your RE and get some more tests done to see whats going on and see if your RE thinks trying naturally and conceiving on your own is possible. We have a different issue but also did IVF for #1. I asked about conceiving on our own for a possible second child and my RE said highly unlikely but not impossible. GL
