I packed way too much stuff. This is basically what I used. Actually I didn't even use underwear- only the mesh ones provided by the hospital. I had an episiotomy and forceps delivery so I was very tender and the thought of underwear made me cringe. Lol! I did pack some outfits for baby- way too much though. She stayed in the hospital onesie the first day. I did dress her up cute the second day since the hospital had a photographer wh came to take pics and then a going home outfit for her as well. I did also pack some snacks for me and DH too- they were handy when he didn't feel like running down to the cafeteria. Breast feeding is hungry business!

yes I packed way to much for my first lol. I have learned my lesson. I used the mesh undies until the 2nd day. My DS was in the NICU so i had to get dressed to go visit him. We were Chat Icon so dh was going to wash which ever outfit we needed and bring it to the hospital for discharge, otherwise I would have packed the baby outfit

Re: Hospital bag?

The only things I used were:
1- Pajamas/underwear for me
2- going home outfit for DD
3- toiletry bag (shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair brush, tooth brush/paste)
4- Boppy pillow
5- Phone/iPad.

I lived 2 minutes from the hospital and since DH wasn't permitted to stay overnight, I could always make a list and ask him to bring stuff with him when needed.

DH will just get whatever I need and bring it back for me since we live about 5 mins from the hospital. I am bringing:

1. a going home outfit for the baby. The baby will be in the stuff the hospital gives me the whole rest of the time.
2. toiletries for myself
3. underwear/nursing bras
4. One pair of PJs, 2 tank tops and two pairs of capri yoga pants (it'll be july)
5. One sweatshirt
6. iPhone, iPad, charger, camera

Hospital bag?

Just to piggyback this question- when should you get the bag ready? I'm 27 weeks now and I know its early, but I'm not sure when I should start getting ready...

I'm a planner and always do everything before I need to. I think I had mine ready by around 30 weeks last time...just in case. I didn't end up needing it until 39 weeks, but I'm one of those "better safe than sorry" type of people. I felt more comfortable knowing it was packed and in my trunk if I needed it.
