Coming Home Outfit
How did everyone decide on size? Did you just wait until it got closer? Guesstimate?
I'm just worried if we decide we like something on Etsy that it may not get here in time but I also dont want to be totally off size wise.

Coming Home Outfit
I got a boco-baby outfit and it's newborn size. I think it's safe to say that even if you have a big baby, they'll still be able to fit in the newborn size. I only have a couple of footies and things in that size though. Everything else is 3 mo.

My DS was on the small side and I knew it. Doc said my child wouldn't be more than 6lbs at birth. My MIL insisted on getting a 3 month outfit (she paid for it). She's like the baby will fit in this etc even though I said we should be getting a newborn size. Low and behold DS was swimming in the outfit. I would get a newborn size

My DD wore newborn home from the hospital. I think we will do the same with this baby.

Lets just say my DD was almost 10 lbs and she fit into a newborn, 0-3 mos. was too big.

Newborn size does not always work. I brought an outfit in newborn and 0-3. He didn't fit in the newborn and never did.

DS was 9.5 lbs. in the NICU the dressed them. They only had newborn and we had to squeeze him in. It was tight. He's been in 0-3 now and they fit him perfect over 10lbs at 3 weeks old.
I had bought .NB and 0-3 and just returned NB. Diapers too. NB barely fit. I returned the box to get size 1's

It's really hard to guesstimate. Both of my kids were in the 7lb range and fit in NB. 0-3 was huge.

I brought newborn outfits and 3 month outfits. DD was measuring large at 36 weeks and she turned out to be a peanut. She's almost a month now and still too small for 3 month clothes. I've had to do a lot of newborn sized laundry so she can wear clothes that fit.
ETA: she was 6 lbs 8 oz at birth.

This! We brought her home in a 0-3 outfit from Baby Gap and it was huge! We ended up having to purchase a ton of newborn sized clothing because she didn't wear 0-3 until almost 2 months old.

My 8lb 13oz son wore a newborn coming home outfit. He did not wear newborn for long but he did at least for a few weeks.

Both my DDs had NB size coming home outfits and they were big on both of them. They were 7lb5oz and 6lb9oz.
Unless your baby is over 10lbs, most newborns fit just fine into the newborn size. Even my nephew who was 9lbs1oz used a NB size coming home outfit.
