DOE Teachers in Queens districts
Anyone know of any openings in Queens for elementary?
I have applied to a bunch through the NYC site, and have emailed several principals directly who didn't advertise anything. But was wondering if anyone had any "insider" information. I have been subbing on long island for 2 years now and am looking for a full time teaching job for September.
Currently i'm working in an office because I needed a salaried position... the per diem pay was not paying the bills.
Anyway, thanks for any info!

Budgets aren't released until July 1... principals might not know where their vacancies are / how many people they can hire. Hang in there....

Ugh really? I didn't know that. I am panicking because its May already and I feel like most Long Island districts are doing their hiring NOW. I feel like I have resumes out to every single district on LI and every Queens school along the Nassau border.

Yes... grades 1-6.
I am 3 credits short of my ELA for grades 7-12 that I am HOPING I can take online this summer.

budgets were actually released this past week and we are starting to get a better picture of needs and availability. You should start seeing some movement now. Continue looking on Open Market and the The New Teacher finder.
