Help!! Coctail Reception

My husband and I are invited to our niece's wedding and the church is at 10AM, and cocktail reception is at 11:30 @ Cowfish in Hampton Bays......
What should I wear????? I would love to wear pants, Hubby is wearing sports jacket....Any suggestions as what I should wear....and what does it mean COCKTAIL RECEPTION.........TIA....

I would assume a cocktail reception means instead of a regular cocktail hour and sit down main course , the whole thing will be cocktail hour food.

Call the place though they'd be happy to tell you!

As far as what to wear I'd assume anything you'd wear to any other early in the day wedding


Pants and extra bacon wrapped scallops- I'm in! Lol

I've been to a cocktail reception. Yes basically it's a day wedding with cocktail hour stations like carving station, pasta, etc.

I would wear whatever you would wear to a day wedding. Have fun!
