Spotting

Please talk me off a cliff. I had 2 drops of bright red blood when I went to the bathroom this AM. Nothing since. I'm staying home today since I just don't feel well and I'm having a meltdown. I called the office and left a message. In the mean time I am beside myself. If this normal? I don't really have cramping just a stomach ache today

Good idea staying home- just rest and relax, and if the drs. office calls back, see if you can go in for a sono to just make sure all is OK. I am sure it is fine, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Try not to think about it too much, though

Re: Spotting

I agree. Try to relax as much as possible. I know it's hard. Spotting can be completely normal in the beginning. If your doc doesn't get back to you call again and try to get in for a sono just to ease your mind.

Finally spoke with the nurse. She said it could be normal but to call back if I have cramping or heavier bleeding. Not very comforting and wish I could just go in for an ultrasound but I'm going to try and relax for the day.

Sending hugs. Take it easy today and try to relax, but yes spotting can be totally normal during pregnancy especially if it isn't accompanied by heavy cramping. My BF had some spotting early on and was freaking out but she is 28 weeks pg now with a happy and healthy little boy.

Re: Spotting

Are you taking progesterone? Sometimes the progesterone can irritate the cervix. When is your next appointment?

It's likely the progesterone supps you're on.

Bleeding is never easy, but I had bright red blood (and I wasn't on supps) with both of my pregnancies early on. And now I have 2 healthy children. It's nerve wracking, but in your case, it's most likely irritation from the supps.

Re: Spotting

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. At 7 weeks, on a Friday afternoon I started spotting brown and pink the entire weekend. I freaked out and was sure I was having a MC. The nurse said it could be related to implantation. The doctor also said it could be totally normal. He also told me to go to the ER if I had heavy bright red bleeding and cramps. i had a sonogram that Monday and the baby was fine, then the bleeding stopped. We are still going strong at 16 weeks, with no further bleeding.

We never figured out the cause, but I was also taking baby aspirin so it could have been related to that. Are you taking any meds that could be irritating or blood thinning?

I know it's scary but just because you had bleeding does not necessarily mean you are having a MC. Rest and drink a lot of water. I would ask for a sonogram if it continues or happens again or if you're very worried, just for your peace of mind.

I am on crinone and then all day I have had horrible diarrhea so I'm just resting and drinking water. Which I think may be from all the milk I have been craving and drinking. I haven't had any spotting though the rest of the day. Ugh I wish I could just have a sono every day! Lol
