Driveway regrading and widening - cost?

Anyone know approximately what it costs to do the following:

regrade the current driveway to make it slightly less steep

widen the driveway by one car width

Add a parking "pad" at the top of the driveway (next to the house) that would be able to fit about 4 parked cars.

Our driveway is TERRIBLE and this is something we need to do soon, but we have no clue what it's going to cost us.

There's really no way to give a cost based on that information - it's all about the square footage and what you're planning on doing.

I will caution that you may not be able to make the driveway "less steep" without causing possible drainage issues. You want the water to roll off the driveway and away from the house/garage so you don't flood. As for making the driveway wider, it's really just the cost of laying pavers, or whatever.

We redid our driveway last summer and widened our driveway, only by about 18 inches, but the only cost to that was what the pavers cost. It cost no more than the rest of the driveway. There's no additional cost to rip up grass instead of ripping up old concrete/pavers.

Best bet is just to start getting estimates.

This is a project we are doing in the future as well. Are you going to be widening the entrance to the driveway also? At the curb? I'm just wondering if you need a permit for that?

Just be careful when widening the driveway. If you are widening the opening check with your town to see how many more feet you can go. But if you are just widening the side, you should be good.

To answer of few of the questions:

As far as drainage or flooding, our driveway right now is like a small mountain....its completely uphill. So, even if we made it less steep, the water would still drain away from the house.

We plan to widen the driveway at the curb opening as well as on the side.

It would be asphalt, not pavers.

Right, but the material doesn't matter. Just the square footage. Asphalt, cement, pavers, etc. will all be priced by the square footage of what you're doing.

Regrading will depend on how difficult the job is/what's involved, but any masonry company can quote you on that.
