Backache
My lower right back has been hurting and I am only 16w3d, walking seems to help but I sit behind a desk at work. I am overweight but only gained 5 lbs so far and didn't gain weight from last appt so doubt its that. I know shes on the right side maybe shes on a nerve...Not sure what to do.

Re: Backache
I had the same issue around the same time. Doctor told me it's because my spine is pushing forward and when I move in certain directions it does touch a nerve.
Is the pain all the time or only when you move in certain positions?

Re: Backache
Sounds like sciatica. I have it this pregnancy too. It started sometime around 18 weeks and now at 25 weeks it's constant pain and it's SO bad. It shoots from my lower right back all the way down my butt and down the back of my hip/leg. I feel it mostly when I stand up from a sitting or laying position and when I bend over or kneel down. Unfortunately, I dont think there's much that can be done for it other than some stretching.

Backache
I have been having the sciatica pain as well since like 9 weeks. I get shooting pain from back into my butt and can barely move. When it happens I lay with the snoogle and an extra pillow under me and usually it's gone. I wasn't overweight when I got pregnant, gained about 6lbs in 12 weeks and I have the twins. I couldn't believe that happened to me at 9 weeks. I just try and stretch daily and not lay on that side. I have a dull ache all the time but when I move or bend the pain is insane at times, most of the time I'm ok, usually 1x a week I experience this for a full day.

Re: Backache
Thank you ladies, I actually saw a Chiropractor/Massage Therapist and she said its not sciatica because its not going down my leg, but its really tense muscle. She did acupuncture and massaged the area (pre-natal) and felt so much better so will go once a week. I tried the snoogle and was so uncomfortable. Having a hard time sleeping last night and it hurts again today but she said will take a few sessions to feel some relief.
