High level of fluid around baby?
I went in for an additional ultrasound today to check baby's growth due to having a 2 vessel umbilical cord. The doctor then tells me that there is a high level of fluid around the baby. She doesnt seem to concerned. Says it could be due to gestational diabetes, which I was tested for again today. She said she went through it with one of her pregancies. Anyone go through this? If so have you had any issues regarding it? They now want to monitor me weekly.
I feel like everytime I go in there is another issue.

High level of fluid around baby?
I had it with one of my pregnancies with GD. It wound up going back down. No issues from it.

Re: High level of fluid around baby?
I had a TON of fluid. Both times, but mostly with this last one.
They were surprised I didn't have GD (and she was measuring big). I passed the tests.
The only issue that resulted was that bc there was so much fluid, she wouldn't drop into the birth canal. She was like, swimming around. They had to break my water (and OMG, it kept gushing, and gushing, and gushing. I'm surprised I didn't flood the room!).
But once they did that, all was fine and she came out 20 minutes later :)

Thanks now I feel better. The doctor said not to be too concerned but the fact they want to monitor me weekly got me a little worried.

Re: High level of fluid around baby?
this happened with both of my pregnancies...and both of my kids were big so they kept questioning if i had GD which i didnt either pregnancy. I carried high throughout my entire pregnancy. DD water broke and no problems at all...my doctor wanted to help her drop quicker so she had me sit up for about an hour which helped her drop (and i didnt mind bc i had a great epi and couldnt feel a thing!) With DS the dr broke my water, but apparently when he broke it he didnt get it all and the baby shifted and ended up acting like a plug (for lack of a better description). The doctor checked on me an hour later and i had zero progress until he realized the baby was blocking so he shifted and more fluid came out. its amazing how much is in there LOL but once that happened labor was quick

High level of fluid around baby?
Well I got a call from my Dr office yesterday and I have to come in for the 3hr test for gd. Hopefully that's not the case but even if it is I don't think there's too much to be concerned with from what I have been told by others who have had it.
