Which is more accurate - Maternit21 or Ultrascreen
Does anyone know if the Maternit21 or Ultrascreen is more reliable?

I didn't look up any numbers, but for chromosomal abnormalities, I would say MaterniT21. The MaterniT21 and other NIPTs use fragents of DNA in the mother's blood. While there are reasons it could give a false positive or negative, the accuracy is high.

Maternit21 and other NIPTs test the fetal DNA fragments in our blood and are 99% accurate. The ultrascreen looks at the nuchal translucency, your age and some hormone and protein levels to calculate your risk of a chromosomal disorder. I opted to do both. But if I had to pick one over the other, it would be the NIPT. Plus they can also tell you the sex.

I'm not sure about that. From what I understand it's still a screening, not an actual diagnostic test. Therefore it can still come back with high odds for lets say Trisomy 21 but only an amino would tell you for certain. And while it does test for the Trisomies, it does not test for neural tubal defects or anatomical defects, so the NT scan may still be very beneficial.

You are right. I thought she was talking about gender not abnormalities.

I was asking about abnormalities. Ultrascreen does not tell gender. Either way, I am pretty sure my doctor had said the same about 99% accurate for abnormalities too.So I wanted to know what others were told.
