How much notice should I give my job for my last week?
I originally planned to work up until the day before my induction, but lately I'm swelling so much, having a lot of back pain, and overall exhausted. I need a break before this LO arrives. DH and I decided yesterday that this needs to be my last week of work. I will be coming back after my maternity leave is over (I'm taking 10 weeks). How far in advanced do I need to tell my boss? If I tell him today that this will be my last week, is that enough time? Or should I tell him today that next Tuesday or Wednesday will be my last day (so I give a full week's notice)?
ETA: I would have ideally liked to give them much more notice than this, but I was feeling OK up until recently and now I'm at the point where I really just cant do it anymore. It happened more suddenly than I anticipated.

How much notice should I give my job for my last week?
I think id tell him today that this will be your last week. You can always discuss coming in a day or two next week if it's absolutely necessary.

I would just get a doctors note and let that be your date so he can't get upset with the short notice. Will your office give you one?

I would definitely talk to him today and just be honest. Say you physically just can't do it and its for you and baby's best interest. Good Luck!

That's my plan. I have an appointment tomorrow and I planned to ask for a note. I don't know if she'll give me one or not, but I'll at least ask.

I took off Thursday bc I was feeling crappy.
Came back Friday and said That I would try to come in Monday, but couldn't make any promises. That Friday ended up being my last day

Tell them the Dr said this is your last week. They have known this day is coming and shouldn't be too surprised if it's earlier than expected. Women have their babies early or have to go out early all the time.
