Lipgloss vs. lipstick
I have a ton of lipsticks that I love but never wear out of the house except for special occasions because they make my face look super made up and overdone. I feel much less made up in lipgloss, sometimes sheer, sometimes super sparkly if I am feeling fancy.
Only thing is, I'm mid-30s and I was always taught that shimmer and gloss were for young girls. So I am curious - do you all prefer lipstick or gloss?

Re: Lipgloss vs. lipstick
I only wear gloss.
I feel lipstick is , like you said, too made up, too severe. Anything matte ages me too
I don't go overly sparkly or glittery.
I use NYX Butter Gloss.
It gives a nice sheen to the lips, a nice sheer hint of color, and it doesn't look too young or anything.
Plus it wears off super fast, so by mid day I'm not wearing anything at all anyway. LOL

Re: Lipgloss vs. lipstick
try a lipstain with a little balm of gloss over it. You can go really light on a stain and not have it look too over done.

Re: Lipgloss vs. lipstick
Loathe lip gloss. I hate how it looks on everyone. I personally hate slippery stuff on my lips. I prefer a matte lipstick.

Re: Lipgloss vs. lipstick
I generally wear a gloss. I think matte looks too severe on me, too, unless I'm dressed up for an event. Sometimes if I like a lip color I'll get it and wear a gloss over it.

Re: Lipgloss vs. lipstick
Gloss can actually be flattering as we get older, because it makes your lip lines less noticeable. You can always blot to make it less shiny, and avoid ones with sparkles.
I like to use tinted lip balms-they are less sticky & shiny.
I like-Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick I like the colors Fresh Papaya & Raspberry
or the
Almay Color & Care Liquid Lip Balm I like the Colors Apple a Day & Just Plum Good
I also like to use a lip liner to color in my whole lips, and then use a lip palm (even just a clear Chapstick) over it for a more natural look.
