Mucus Plug Question
I'm 37 weeks today and noticed that I had a little bloody shower this morning and then a little more later on in the day. I had my 37 week appointment yesterday and my cervix was still closed but very very soft. I'm wondering if the internal exam had anything to do with losing some of my mucus plug. I also experienced Braxton Hicks for the first time today..or at least it's the first time I noticed it.
How long after you lose it or some of it could you go into labor? Could it still take weeks or is it only a matter of days?

Re: Mucus Plug Question
Could be either. I lost my mucus plug the night I went into labor. Other people have lost it 2 weeks before.

Re: Mucus Plug Question
A little bleeding is very common after internals. If your cervix was closed, you're probably not losing your mucous plug, but ya never know. Could mean something, could mean nothing.

Mucus Plug Question
I agree it could be either. Some blood at this stage is normal. Losing your plug doesn't mean labor will be in the immediate future.

Re: Mucus Plug Question
I lost my plug in the hospital for preterm labor. My cervix was checked right before and after, and it was closed. My water broke about 12 hours after I lost my plug. But you never know.
