Hi ladies!
I used to be an active poster on these boards back in 2012-2014 when I was going through my infertility treatments. Finally after 6 Unsuccessful IUI's I was able to conceive my little miracle baby with a round of IVF. We are about to begin the process again in hopes of having baby number 2 but I'm writing because I was wondering if any of you ladies belong to the national infertility awareness group, RESOLVE? I know that infertility awareness isn't until mid April but i started looking for possible walks that will be held on Long Island and nothing came up. It even appears that in the most recent years no awareness walks were held on Long Island. This is so upsetting to me. That's when I stumbled across RESOLVE and there is actually a section on their website where you can enter your location and try and get a walk going. I'm basically writing to ask you ladies how many of you would be interested in doing a walk come spring time? I belong to LI IVF so I'm going to ask what they typically do for the week of infertility awareness but from what I can find from previous years they typically have just held conferences. Anyhow, I don't need to explain to you ladies how terribly draining, depressing and lonely infertility is and i'd love for us all to stand together and be able to bring awareness to this horrible thing we call infertility. I figured before I entered my info in the RESOLVE website I'd try and get a poll going to see how many would actually be interested in doing this walk.

Re: Hi ladies!
Thank you for your well wishes ladies! Once you deal with infertility it sticks with you for life. I still suffer from anxiety from it. I used to be ashamed and so secretive about my treatments and after I had my son I realized how silly I was. Infertility treatments are not even covered by most insurances but yet we go through the same emotional roller coaster as someone else with a more well known disease. It's not right. This topic definitely needs more awareness. We did not ask for this, we did nothing to cause this so why do so many of us feel ashamed? Once I started telling people my story I realized how many people I know that actually had difficulty too and had to undergo fertility treatments. It's more than we think that's for sure.
