Can I use self raising flour for choclate chip cookies

I have a lot of this flour in the house and want to use it up.

I was curious so I did a quick Google search. Looks like self rising flour has about a half teaspoon of baking flour and a quarter teaspoon of salt added for each cup. So just adjust your recipes to eliminate or reduce the baking powder and salt and you should be able to use it.
