urgent- panicking... DOE nomination letter
This letter will confirm that your earlier nomination to a position with the New York City Department of Education has been closed. Since the offer of employment was conditional and contingent upon both budget availability and the successful completion of all application requirements, including security clearance, please be advised that this nomination is closed effective immediately. Thank you for your interest in employment with the New York City Department of Education.
This is the e-mail I just received and I'm FREAKING OUT. Does this mean they rejected my application? The principal hired me yesterday and I just put in for my resignation in my current building.....

I honestly don't kno, but I hope it's not bad news. LIF traffic is very slow. Can you post in a FB group? That gets way more traffic.

Um. I'd panic too. Call Court Street and/or the UFT tomorrow.
I hope it works out.

Did you give 30 days notice when you resigned from the doe ? If not they can red flag your file . I would talk to the principal that hired you. I hope it all works out! http://www.uft.org/info-you-should-know/thinking-resigning

I'm a NYC DOE Teacher. I don't want to say this to upset you, and I could be 100% wrong, but can this mean that you're "blacklisted" because you left the city prior? I hope I'm wrong but it's the only thing that comes to mind at the moment.

In my interview, my principal said she looked into my file and saw that followed all of the appropriate protocol measures and HR told her that as well. I resigned back in June, so that shouldn't be the case!
ETA: if you were blacklisted for a reason like that, can the new principal override that?

Update: the principal called me and assured me that it is fine. She said I am in the system for her, so I guess I'm good to go

Awesome! Congrats! You got VERY lucky finding something so quickly and in a good Queens district. All the best!

Yes I know- It's a fantastic school. My plan was finish out the year on LI and then move over to the city in Sept, but when this mid-year opportunity arose, and I was told I can get 2 years back towards my probationary period, it made sense to just leave now and not waste any more time in a district I won't be tenured in.
I'm excited to be teaching math/special ed again.

I know this is an old post but I stumbled upon it because I’m in a similar situation. Was the letter a glitch in the system?

I am reading it all back and I honestly don't even remember this happening lol- It must have been a glitch though, because I started on 2/7 which was only like 2 weeks after this post.
It may have been an issue because I left the DOE for LI and came back all within like 6 months and the DOE was very confused. It was like they didn't even know I left in the first place because their systems were so backed up
