Changing registered voter affiliation

Does anyone know how I can change my voter registration affiliation?

I was registered independent, but want to be able to vote in the next Democratic elections

I think you can do it online through the DMV.

You can go on your local board of elections site and submit a new voter registration form. If you're already in the system, they will process it as a change.

Yeah I did it this way when I dropped being a republican decade or so ago. I went undeclared. In New York it meant I couldn't vote in primaries but in Texas there's no such restrictions so I am actually more free to vote how I see fit regardless of party lines. It's very liberating. Plus as undeclared I can still vote in primaries. I just have to choose which party I am voting for in the primaries. Like this year I chose to vote in the democrat primaries.

That is awesome!! I do really wonder how many more people will vote in the primaries from now on. I certainly will.
