Re: started to register
Did you register for a Rock N Play? You should. That thing is great.
Don't do too many bottles- until you know what the baby will take to. Just maybe a starter pack of one brand

Agreed with the bottles. My twins have 2 different bottles. I love my boppy pillows! I love the graco lounger they sleep in that it can go flat or elevated!

we bought the ExerSaucer Bounce & Learn - Zoo Friends at BRU and DD loves it. We were also going to do a jumperoo, but they're like $100 and ended up getting a $20 graco doorway jumper instead. We have the braun forehead thermometer and like it- no complaints.
Would recommend: 1. lots and lots of bibs. I got like 6 or 7 aden and anais ones, but had no clue that you go through like 10+ bibs a day. DD spits up alot, so we go through a ton. 2. a foam play mat. We have the Tadpoles Teddy & Friends one 3. a cheap pack and play, and not one of those crazy deluxe ones. We NEVER used the bassinet/changing topper on ours. Was a total waste of money IMO. 4. A rock and play 5. a snot sucker 6. the dohm sound machine 7. butt paste 8. A hamper with a liner inside. we had a regular one, but so many wet, soggy bibs and whatnot go in there and it was really disgusting. We got one with a liner so we can just throw that in the wash with the laundry 9. A bundleme

Graco Dreamglider saved my life.
You need a rectal thermometer for an infant. Those temporal ones are terrible.

Agreed! The temporal one gives me like 5 different temperatures every time I take it! So frustrating!!

It's a little pricier than others, but we loved our 4MOMS bath tub--- it allowed us to know the temperature and we kept the faucet running as suggested so the clean water flows in and dirty water flows out......DD is about 11 months old now and we just switched to the bathtub (with an insert) about 2.5 weeks ago and now use the 4MOMS temp gauge that goes on the faucet....miss the clean water in thing, but alas she's too big now!

Personally I loved our pack and play with the bassinet and changing table on top. We used it often for the first 3/4 months. I was really sad when she got too big for it and I had to remove it. Then even sadder when we had to lower the pack and play. Now my lazy ass has to go all the way upstairs to her changing table.
I totally agree with the NoseFrieda snot sucker- that thing is a miracle worker!
I also really liked the Little Remedies New Parents Survival kit- it came with everything- gripe water, saline spray, tylenol, etc. in this little carrying case. It's perfect for the diaper bag.
Or the New Baby Essentials Kit is the same thing:
We didn't really use the regular boppy pillow, but I loved the boppy newborn lounger. I was sad when she outgrew that, too.
I really like the Bumbo multi seat now. It can be used as a booster seat attached to a regular chair and the tray stores in the back.
ETA: We never used a rock and play and while DD liked her Mommaroo, I wouldn't have spent the money on it. My mom had a less expensive hand me down more traditional swing and she liked that better.
If you're breastfeeding, definitely get the My Breast Friend pillow. It was the BEST nursing pillow!
I also spent a lot on different swaddlers- like the Halo SwaddleMe and Sleepsack and she HATED them. She loved sleeping with her arms flung out over her head.
