Recovery after breast lump removal
Can anyone shed some light on recovery after breast lump removal? My 17 year old has to have it done as she has a 3.5cm mass in her breast. I'm just wondering what kind of pain she will have and how long it will last. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Recovery after breast lump removal
My mom has had it done several times. It's no heavy lifting for a couple of weeks until the stitches heal. I obviously don't know the pain firsthand, but my mom never seemed to complain.
Hope she's ok!

Recovery after breast lump removal
When I had one removed it was on the top portion, in the middle and the doctor made me wear an ice pack for a few days to help keep the swelling down. It was a thin so I wore thicker shirts. The pain was more annoying when I was sleeping/laying down. I would recommend a soft bra

Thank you. Hers incision will be more under the arm, but the bra is a good idea. Did you use a sports type bra?

Yes, it was a sports bra but I would not suggest one that goes over the head. Too difficult to get on/off with an incision

Re: Recovery after breast lump removal
That's about where my surgery was. It was vet sore for a lot longer than I thought it would be but I also had lymph nodes removed. Lots of luck to her.
Yoga bra may be more comfy. I also wore a lot of camis with the built in shelf bras
