ICT or catholic school with a SET/SEIT?
I have a son without a diagnosis in pre k who has average IQ, is socially related, but gets PT and OT and speech and has trouble focusing and requires a lot of prompting to participate in class. He is in universal Pre K at a catholic school that I love. He was having trouble in the beginning completing assignments and drawing and writing his name at grade level so now he also gets a seit for three hours a week and his performance has greatly improved. The catholic school feels that with increased seit hours he can absolutely succeed there. The school psych who evaluated him feels that he should be in an ICT. I'm torn and looking for opinions
ETA - this is not my child with asd/cp who I usually post about here. This is his brother :).

I would go ICT for Kindergarten. It will promote independence vs having an adult on him for a portion of the day. ICT would also offer more flexibility for differentiating instruction and more of a team approach for staff working with him. Also how much time would the SEIT be with your son? At the school aged level they typically do small group Resource Room for 40 minutes, 5x/ week.

Agree with pp. My twins are in ICT now in kindergarten. I think it has helped tremendously having a special ed and general ed teacher in class. They have grown so much and are so much more independent than when they started in September.
