People are the worst! I HATE the notion that a man is disappointed to have daughters. I have a little sister and even though she's a lot younger than me (8 years), the bond is unbreakable. They'll be lucky to have each other! Congrats on the pregnancy!
Me too! I'm stil, holding a grudge towards dhs best friend bc when I was pregnant with my second girl he made a comment we need to have a third bc dh wants a boy. Well you know what, he's meant to be a daddy to daughters!
Dd1 is obsessed with him.
I hate the notion that he's disappointed he doesn't have a son.
Even if we went for a third, he'd be happy with another girl!
I seriously can't stand people...most of the time. People have opinions on everything. When you'll get pregnant. Giving siblings. Blah blah.
EXACTLY! Always have something to say! What ever happened to not saying anything at all if it isn't nice! We are all blessed with ALL of our babies!!

I just had twin boys everyone said to me when I was pregnant and nowncontinues to say so your going to have a 3rd to have a girl right? I tell them hell no and just because you have another doesn't mean it will be the opposite gender trying for the opposite gender should never be a reason to have a child! I shut people down so fast
People just don't think! Also, people have this obsession with the idea that a family is only complete when you have at least one of each gender.
This exactly. I have 2 girls and while we are. Or having anymore right after we our 2nd my mil asked if we were going for a third. I have to have a boy! She has 3 boys...I don't get it

Sooooooo...I just came from north shore farms to do grocery shopping and I had my two girls with me. The friggin stock man commented on how beautiful my girls were and how I had two princesses. Great, thanks.
BUT then he says I have to get a boy. I should work on that?!? I laughed bc I thought of this thread. Umm ok. I'll go home and go on my iPad to G-d's Amazon prime and place my order for a boy.

Re: Gender "blues"
I'm pregnant with twin girls and people are already asking me if we'll try for a boy even tho most know we tried for MANY YEARS to get pregnant with these two AND I am so gigantic and uncomfortable I can hardly believe they are asking me before I've even gotten these two safely into the world.

I have two of the same. It made me sad to get comments like that, but you will quickly get over it. That's why I think it is better to keep the gender a secret before the baby is born. People are less likely to say rude things once the baby comes.

Re: Gender "blues"
I feel you. I have two girls. I didn't find out with either, but honestly, I secretly hoped it was another girl because I wanted DD1 to have a sister (I never had a sister). As soon as DD2 was born, we heard "Are you going to try for a boy??" I'm now pregnant with no. 3. DH and I decided not find out again mostly because we really don't want to hear other people's reactions if it is another girl. I truly would be happy either way--DH, too.

Same here and if we ever had a third, I would honestly want a third girl!

When I was pregnant with my 3rd everyone assumed we wanted a boy since I already had 2 girls. Both DH and I really wanted another girl though and that's what we had.

Re: Gender "blues"
I'm telling you. Tell them. Smile while you do it, but put them in their place.
Smile ike you're being playful and say "You shouldn't say that to a pregnant women. What if I can't have any more? What if I don't want any more?"
Or, smile and chirp "What kind of thing is that to say? So MEAN to tell someone who may never have a boy that she NEEDS one? Terrible!"
Do it with a smile, but they will feel foolish.
