Spanx? Am I do something wrong?
I feel like it doesn't do much. Or at least I'm still unimpressed with my bod under a dress when I put it on.  Am I doing something wrong or are there others who feel the same way?

Same. I wore them once to a wedding and took them off in the bathroom. They were just a torture chamber
All it does is smooth out the lumps. It does nothing to define. So now I just make sure anything I buy isn't clingy.

I hate the Spanx brand. I love Body Wrap .
They are so comfortable and do not roll down and smooth everything that needs to look smooth.

It completely depends on the type of spanx and the outfit you are wearing. I love spanx and wear them often, but with some outfits I don't wear them because they can make you look bigger. But when you have the right ones and the right outfit, they are awesome. For me it's just trial and error.

I have a few. Like PP mentioned, it all depends on the spanx and outfit. I only really wear them to smooth out a dress or if the dress calls for no panties. Hate showing any lines of my underwear.

LOL, I used to do the sucking the tummy in...that's how I stayed in shape! I'd go out 2-4 times a week and I'd get one heck of an ab workout. 
After 4 kids, my abs don't want any part of that. (I told my DH I just need to get out more for "exercise." )
Well, I ordered a crapload of body shapers. We'll see if they'll make a dfference or make me look lumpier. And I'm gonna' give the control top pantyhose a try to see if that my do the trick! (Hopefully the cut off legs don't roll up my butt.  )
