Can we talk brownies?

Out of the box brownies...I have tried to make brownies from scratch and while I loved them my kids prefer the taste of the ones from the box.

SO we made some this past weekend and again today. We made the first batch in a smaller pan - something like 8 x 9 and the second batch in a 9 x 13. The second batch came out wayyyy too thin - I don't know how they can say that one box will fit either pan or maybe I am missing something - was I supposed to put two boxes of the mix in the 9 x 13?

The first batch in the smaller pan came out very moist in the middle - I mean the kids ate them but even a day laster they were dark brown in the middle and moist. I cooked them according to the pan size but I think i should have kept them in longer.

Anyway...what size pan do you like the best for boxed brownies and any tips on cooking times?

I have to make and frost 50 of these suckers for frida - 50 individual pieces not 50 pans!

Brownie Pan

This is the best brownie pan. I've had it for a few years now and my brownies come out perfect every time.

A regular 9x13 pan does make very thing brownies.

yes 1 box of brownies goes in an 8x8 or 9x9 pan. the bigger pan you need 2 box of brownies.

They make family size boxes of mix that say on the front they fit 9x13 pans.

Re: Can we talk brownies?

Actually just looked at the box that I used last night in the 13 x 9 pan and it says on the box "family size 13 x 9" but it definitely was not enough mix. I think I will pick up some smaller pans today.

for the future you might want to consider the pampered chef brownie pan- I love it- way better IMO than "the perfect brownie pan".
Good Luck with your brownies!

Omg that Pan looks amazing. I love the crispy outsides of the brownies.

The box calls for 13x9 but they are WAY better in a smaller pan. I also bake mine at a lower temp, 325, for 45 minutes. They are so delicious and fudgy...everyone thinks they are homemade!

I use Ghiardelli mix in a square pan, maybe 8x8? They come out perfect every time. I would never get the brownie pan with all edges bc I'm totally a "middle" kinda girl. DH likes the edges so a regular pan works perfectly for us...he eats the edge pieces and I eat the middles.
