Anyone take Evening Primose Oil to balance hormones?
Especially in your 40s?
Ever since having DD my periods- which were wonky as all get out my whole entire life- have been pretty regular. I can always tell when I am about to ovulate too. It's crazy how pregnancy regulated me.
Anyway, for about a week before my period my boobs would be sore- normal.
Lately it has been the second after I ovulate the boobs start getting sore- so like 2 weeks worth of sore boobs.
The past month or 2 they have been pms sore pretty much right after my period, through ovulation, up until I get my period. I have read that often perimenopause is the cause of this and that evening primrose can help.
Curious if anyone has used it for perimenopause symptoms or to balance hormones out a bit.

Interesting I am the same way. Started for me at 25 and at 35 now it's still the same. My only experience w EPO was when I was trying to get pregnant, going through infertility and doc suggested this with a bunch of other supplements. I would up doing ivf so can't say if it helped but I am now thinking of trying EPO too!
Do you feel so skinny and sucked out from the last day of your period for like 3-4 days and then start to feel bloated right after O?

Yes! I retain so much water for those 2 weeks and I really think that adds to the sore boobs...they retain water and feel heavy too. I am going to try it and see if it helps...i can't imagine it would hurt. Seems to be a pretty healthy supplement.

Wow that is crazy. I have been taking it for less than a week. So far no more moody than usual, but I'll keep you posted! And I'll see when my period comes if I get cramps- I usually never get any cramps at all. I just can't take the boob pain. I have to put a bra on the second I get out of the shower in the morning- they hurt sooooo bad that I can't be braless for long at all

I know..even the gyn was like that's weird! But, I'm telling you, it was like flipping a switch!, I was super crabby ALL the time. I only started taking it because I kept getting this pain in my armpit/breast area each month around my period, so they suggested it might help. Nope! But honestly, I get all kinds of weird reactions to things that work well for other people, so it was probably just me! Oh, and my armpit pain ended up going away after I started seeing the chiro for a back problem I was having!
