Chili

So I went to my first WW meeting last night. I showed the group leader the recipe for the WW chili and he said its not a WW recipe and that I shouldnt go by it??
Did anyone actually figure out the points themselves to get the correct point value? I bought all of the ingredients, and I really want to make it.
Thanks!

Re: Chili

When I ran it through the recipe builder on WW online I got 2pts per cup, so that's what I count it as.

No problem. I'm only on WW online, so if you need me to run a recipe through the recipe builder let me know.

Chat Icon I used to go to Ron in Carle Place. Does he still do Elmont on Wed nights?

He was AWESOME!

I'm an anti-mtg person, but if I could have a one on one with Ron that would be great.Chat Icon

I made it and it made 15 servings at 3 points per cup. I measured it out one cup at a time into a tupperware.

Re: Chili

I spoke to Lynne, my leader and she basically said that the WW online recipe builder is not the most reliable source. She does work for the WW company and has been for 20 years so I do trust her as a reliable source.

She said that the recipe builder counts the points of veggies/ veggie based products, which are not supposed to be counted, since they are zero. Also, the recipe builder is not counting the liquid in the undrained cans of beans, corn, chiles, etc . . .

She said that her co-worker and her sat with the recipe and dissected it ingredient by ingredient and that the actual points per cup is 1.3. They round it down to one because it is less than 1.5. She said if it makes one more comfortable to count it as 1.5 or 2 points.

She also said it is supposed to make more than 15 cups . . .

I think everyone should count it as they feel comfortable, but I just wanted to post what my leader shared with me when I asked her about it.

Really? What was the leader's name at 10:15?

I know she definitely does the 8:15 and 9:15 meetings . . .
