Awards ceremony attire
DH is getting a huge award from work, his company is based in Houston so its at a hotel down there. The invitation says: 11am - cocktails (drinking a bit early are we?) 12pm - awards ceremony
attire: Business attire or cocktail attire
meanwhile, business attire in his industry is a pair of dress pants and button down.
I'm at a complete loss as to what to wear. ' End of June, in Texas (hello 99 degrees)

Re: Awards ceremony attire
I would wear a dress like I'd wear to work in summer. Something light, maybe evens sleeveless

Awards ceremony attire
I'd look for a dress that is a bit dressier than what I would normally wear to work. Not an all-out cocktail dress, but something a little fancier than normal work attire (or on the dressier end of a work dress)
Some ideas of what I'm thinking:

Re: Awards ceremony attire
I plan corporate award ceremonies regularly. You will most likely see women in a wide range of attire from casual work all the way to evening gown.
All the dresses suggested (or similar) will be just fine. The hotel will be cold so bring a sweater or shawl of some kind.
