I an in Suffolk. Working with a friend who is a contractor, I recently got quoted $3700 to replace a toilet and vanity (our purchase) and install a new shower with subway tile (his purchase). There was no gut involved, just replacement. Nothing was being moved. I would say at least $5k for the basics. Look in the local pennysaver for a $4994 bathroom special. My mom hired one of the those guys a few years ago and the work was impeccable and she had no limitations as to the pieces should could pick out. And they came in at exactly the price advertised.

The cost will depend on the size of the space and what you want in it...tile vs paint, etc.
