Dryer with steam feature
Is the steam feature worth it? Our dryer died yesterday so we need a new one. The one we are getting has the option of steam or not. To get the one with the steam will cost $40 more, so no big deal. But to get that one will take about 2 weeks - no big deal in the grand scheme of things but 2 weeks without a dryer is kind of a pain. So is it worth waiting for? (I am someone who irons almost everything)

Re: Dryer with steam feature
Yes!!!!..................totally worth it!! I LOVE my steam feature because I DESPISE ironing. If something is wrinkled I just throw it in the dryer on the steam setting and the wrinkles are gone and I didn't have to do any work. It's a great feature, go for it!

Dryer with steam feature
Great! Thanks! DH didn't want to have to wait but I wanted to go for the steam feature. He wasn't happy (what are we going to do for 2 weeks and is it really going to make a difference anyway? ) I didn't have time to do any research but I told him I'd rather wait to get the steam feature so that's what he ordered.

All i know is there must be something wrong with mine because I have a brand new Samsung dryer and I paid extra because I was dying for the steam feature and every single time I use it from day 1, the clothes I am steaming come out WET.
Like I can't wear them wet.
It's awful
Am I doing something wrong??

You know what's funny? I have the Samsung with the steam feature and I have never used the feature. And I iron A LOT. So do you dry the clothes and then throw it in steam? For how long? I really need to look into this. This could change my life!

Please let me know if you have better luck than me. I am not sure if my machine is defective but my clothes come out wet from the steam cycle. It's so disappointing.

Yes - I dry the clothes like normal. Then when I pull them out if there are things that are wrinkled, I put them back in and run it on either the "wrinkle" or "refresh" cycle. I pull them out as soon as the dryer goes out and wrinkles are gone.
I also will throw one item in (this morning it was a blouse) because I took it out of my closet and it was wrinkled. Throw it in - and it's good to go when the cycle is over (it's about 15 minutes).

Hmmm - I wonder if it's your machine. Mine never come out wet. When we first got it, I told DH that if I didn't see the window fog up, I would never even know it was working!

OK so I am glad to hear it's not just me or that I got a bum machine. It makes me sad too because I paid extra to specifically have this feature and it is unusable and a huge waste of money.
I would recommend to the OP and anyone who wants this feature to do research and read reviews on the particular model to make sure it isn't one that has this issue. Because if it does, you can't use the feature.

Last Sept we had to get a new washing machine and wound up with the Whirlpool Cabrio - so didn't really do any research, just decided to go with the matching dryer. I hope the steam feature works well. Sounds like it's a great feature when it does work. Have you contacted Samsung to see if there is something you/they can do?

I have been meaning to do that, but keep forgetting. I have resorted to doing what I used to do with my old dryer- throwing the clothes in on "tumble press" (it's not called that on the new dryer but same concept) and letting them just roll around in the heat for a bit and the wrinkles come out decently
But yes, I need to find out what is up with this steam feature

Dryer with steam feature
We have the steam feature and I never found it to really do much of anything. I had a load that had sat in the dryer and got wrinkled, ran the steam feature and it didn't seem to do anything. Maybe that's not how it works though? Are you only supposed to put one article of clothing in it at a time?

Re: Dryer with steam feature
UGH! They were supposed to deliver the new dryer this morning. At 8:45 they called DH and said they would be here within the hour. Half an hour later they called back - they DROPPED IT while loading it onto the truck!!!! So now they have to order another one and said it will be another 2 weeks!
